Inmate Escapes From Federal Correctional Institution In Butner

BUTNER, N.C. — An inmate was discovered missing Tuesday from the satellite minimum security camp at the Federal Correctional Institution in Butner.

David Talley, 39, was discovered missing at 12:50 p.m. during an unscheduled count. He was serving a 120-month sentence for possession with intent to distribute cocaine and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Talley, a native of Highlands, North Carolina, arrived at the prison camp on Aug. 1, 2001. He is described as a white male with brown eyes and brown hair. He is 6-feet-one-inch tall and weighs approximately 230 pounds.

U.S. Marshals and other law enforcement agencies have been notified about his disappearance. An investigation is currently underway.
