Cary Firefighters Volunteer To Work At Restaurant For Good Cause

Posted Updated

CARY, N.C. — Since Sept. 11, we have been reminded of a special bond that all firefighters share. On Sunday, Cary firefighters were giving of their time and from the heart.

Cary firefighters were waiting tables, working in the kitchen, putting out brunch orders as fast as they come in at Chef John's Cafe. They have been raising money since the Sept. 11 attacks.

"I'm excited about it and was really looking forward to being able to help out and send some money up there and let them know we really care," said Cary firefighter Kirby Ring.

"I think all of us feel we want to do something and to see these young people out giving their time is marvelous," said Wake County resident Pat Trussell.

All the proceeds will go to the 911 Disaster Relief Fund in New York.
