Myers' Family Remembers Him On One-Year Anniversary Of His Disappearance

Posted Updated

SAMPSON COUNTY — One year ago Friday, a four-year-old Sampson County boy disappeared from his home, and there is still no sign of Tristen "Buddy" Myers.

To mark the grim anniversary, Myers' family placed an angel underneath a tree of hope outside their home.

They are holding onto hope that despite all the time that has passed, Buddy will come home safely.

"I look at it this way. As long as there is prayer, there's hope," says Aunt Donna Myers. "I think he's fine and I believe someone knows exactly where he is."

Investigators still cannot say for sure whether Buddy was abducted or if he wandered into the woods.

Missing posters still hang at local stores. And in April, Buddy's family found a wrestling action figure in an area not too far from the family's home. The family thinks Buddy was carrying the figure when he disappeared. State inmates cleared away the brush, the family knocked down all the trees, but no one found anything.

The Sheriff says his department has investigated more than 1,000 tips and still they do not have a solid lead.
