Fayetteville Mayoral Candidates Hold Public Forum

Posted Updated

FAYETTEVILLE — Fayetteville voters got a chance to talk one-on-one with mayoral candidates on Tuesday.

Crime, education and economic development were just some of the issues on the table at the candidates forum sponsored by the Fayetteville Business and Professional Women's Club.

Mayoral candidates say they have had a difficult time getting voters interested in the upcoming race.

"Those folks who have not made up their minds can now go away and make an educated vote when they go to the polls on Oct. 9th," said Becky Petit, recording secretary.

Most Fayetteville voters say their primary focus right now is on the economic effects of a potential military deployment instead of the upcoming election.
