A tractor-trailer overturned Tuesday morning in Siler City.

Emergency management crews on scene told WRAL News that around 6 a.m., they received a call about the tractor-trailer crash. The driver was taken to the hospital but crews did not mention the extent to their injuries.

State Highway Patrol said the vehicle involved was a three-axel truck carrying ammonium nitrate, a compound often used as fertilizer. 

As of now, emergency crews said it is not a dangerous situation, and they are accessing which chemicals are in the truck and whether any were mixed together.

A WRAL viewer snapped a photo of the aftermath of the crash before dawn and mistakenly reported that the vehicle involved was a school bus.
