Raleigh council passes sewage, water fee increases

— The Raleigh City Council on Tuesday voted to approve 2.69 percent increases in some water and sewer fees.

The changes include adjustments to nutrient reduction fees, utility acreage fees, acreage fee reimbursement, water meter installation charge, sewer main extension and sewer service connection inspection fees, and the tap fee schedule. 

The fees go into effect on July 1.

    We just had an increase when they went from billing every 2 months to billing monthly. The water dept said there was no increase BUT my water bill (single person) went from $47 every two months TO $38 monthly. TELL ME THAT'S NOT AN INCREASE IN FEES???????

    as if my almost 200 dollar a month water bill wasn't enough... that's what you get folks if you are outside the city limits triple your bill and now more taxes... step on us a little more please
