N.C. Dem would back opposition to Pelosi

Posted October 19, 2010

Democrat Mike McIntyre is keeping his distance from Speaker of the U.S. House Nancy Pelosi as he makes a bid for re-election in North Carolina's 7th Congressional District.

McIntyre, whose district includes Cumberland, Duplin, Robeson, Sampson and Scotland counties, said last week that, if Pelosi runs again to be speaker, he plans to support her opposition.

McIntyre, who has voted against Pelosi for the position in the past, is running against Republican Ilario Pantano in the Nov. 2 election.

Politicians will say anything to get re-elected. We need term limits. That is the only way to get honest people in government.

How smart of Congressman McIntyre to have read the polls and recognize that Democrats will not have the opportunity to elect a Speaker as they will be the minority party. Talk about a CYA statement! Bet he wouldn't be saying that if Congress was still a toss up like the Senate appears to be.

"I would really be interested to know why people hate Nancy Pelosi. Maybe people don't like her personality, but that shouldn't be enough to illicit some of the responses to her. I would really like to know."

How about something to the effect of "draining the swamp" meaning get rid of all the crooks in congress. Randle and Waters are still in place. In Randel's case, he's still inplace 2 years later, who btw is a VERY good friend of who? Pelosis.

Or about obamacare. "we have to pass the health care bill so that you can find out what is in it "

Or needing a new personal 757(?) so she can fly back and forth from CA AND to parties while she HAS a smaller C-20 jet at her disposal.

Flying to China RIGHT before christmas with 20 or so other congressmen to support global warming initiatives. Wonder what the tonnage weight of the acft was before and after her return.

Holding closed doors sessions to write obamacare, then saying that reps did not give any inputs (while they had over 120) a

Equal pay for equal work = equal work for equal pay, right? This doesn't seem to apply in the economics of politics. The liberal view is that those who work harder and earn more are obligated to spread their wealth with those who earn less so that everyone gets a piece of the pie. The liberal formula is something like: more work for less pay = more pay for less work.

Pelosi will not be an issue if voters send David Price, Brad Miller and Bob Etheridge to the NC unemployment line rather than back to the DC feeding trough.
