Burr blasts Obama for recess appointment

Posted July 7, 2010

U.S. Sen. Richard Burr called the recess appointment of a new Medicare and Medicaid administrator "an insult to the American people" Wednesday.

The Republican senator issued a statement condemning President Barack Obama for installing Dr. Donald Berwick as administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services while Congress was not in session.

Berwick, a Harvard University professor and patient care specialist, was nominated to the post on April 19, but senators have not scheduled a hearing to approve his appointment.

No, not really.....I suppose the solution would be to vote in more of the same type of morons that caused the mess we find ourselves in now. From the looks of some of these political ads on TV now, the most qualified leaders have the ability to fire a machine gun.....yeah, cut me off a slice of THAT............

I just love all of these comments applauding Burr and Blasting a recess appointment when it has been done by every President including GW Bush. Nothing sneaky about it when it is being publicized.

Obama could care less about what Americans think of him or the job he is doing. His goal is to bring down America from within. Overwhelm the country with debt, put everyone out of work and make them dependent on government, socialize auto companies, banks, education, health care, and set corporate wage levels. HOW'S THAT CHANGE? EMBARRASSED FOR VOTING FOR OBAMA YET?

dwarner3, you know NOTHING about how our political system works. Go take a polisci class immediately.

Burr is correct in blasting Obama. What Obama did was sneaky and arrogant.

Senator Burr is one of the problems in Washington that needs to be removed, the candidate was nominated 3 months ago and should already have been afforded a hearing. Instead, Burr and the other morons on the hill are campaigning for reelection rather than doing their job. Vote them all out, and replace with new...

Actually, it is the house leadership that schedules the hearings. One would be led to believe that this was a planned and calculated move by the dems and the White House seeing as how they have control and could schedule a hearing at anytime they chose.

Wonder how he felt about Bush's 46 recess appointments?- guessing they weren't the "insult to the American people" that ones done by Obama are. Re-elect NO ONE!
