Gov. Bev Perdue charged the members of her Econimc Development Board with doing the impossible Thursday. At the first meeting of the group tasked with re-thinking the state's economic structure, she asked for an outline of a plan by Jan. 31, 2010.
"There will be people who think this may be crazy and can't be done," she said. "I'm sick and tired of people telling us we can't."
"We're going to put into place a system of economic development that works for every county and every city in this state ... and you're going to help me convince the General Assembly that the laws we need to make this work are critical laws," she said.

Next, the governor proposes to legislate her way back to prosperity by appointing a commission to enact economic development.
Economic development is not passed by the legislature.
Redistribution of wealth and giveaways to special interests are the likely outcome of Bev's nonsensical commission.
If economic development resumes in this state, growth will come from reduced taxes signed into law by a new governor.
Bev doesn't need to be fired up, just fired.
