RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh Mayor Charles Meeker says City Manager Russell Allen will accept any decision that takes away his recent pay raise.

The Raleigh City council has been under fire for approving a 4.75 percent raise for Allen, from $210,000 to $220,000 a year, while extending his contract by a year, through the end of June 2011. The raise comes when all other city employees are facing smaller paychecks.

Meeker says Allen's raise will be reviewed after the council has looked over the entire budget.
