Durham Mayor Bill Bell will meet Friday with President Barack Obama and members of his Cabinet to discuss the economy and other concerns.

The meeting is part of a U.S. Conference of Mayors meeting in Washington. Charlotte Mayor Pat McCrory and Asheville Mayor Terry Bellamy also are among the 85 city leaders taking part in the event.

Bell has submitted a list of infrastructure projects he says could create 600 jobs in Durham if they were funded through the $787 billion federal stimulus package Obama signed into law this week.

68_polara, my point is that crime occurs everywhere, it's not just delegated to one city.... and anytime ur constantly force fed sumthing, ur views will constantly be jaded that it is only one city that has problems....

Wow. What a cluster flop that will be.

I guess he'll be heading to Rocky Mount next.

"sadly in durham, everything is put on the front page.... I guess the N & O and the Herald-Sunn thinks people want to hear about Durham as opposed to any other area..... Wonder Why????"

No actually much of what happens in durham is reported to those of you on WRAL. I've seen stuff that didn't even make the local paper.

Even if this were the case, what's your point?

The President had to put his foot down to pass the stimulus package and then when he talked to the Prime Minister of Canada it was a whole different attitude. The president doesnt know which end is up!
