CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Former presidential candidate John Edwards will make his first public appearance in three months on Tuesday when he makes an address at Indiana University.

Edwards, a Chapel Hill resident and former U.S. senator from North Carolina, is scheduled to speak about the results of last week's elections. The talk is open to the public and will be followed by a question-and-answer session, officials said.

Edwards has stayed out of the public eye since early August, when he disclosed an extramarital affair with a woman hired to film videos for his unsuccessful run for the White House.
