U.S. Sen. Joe Biden, the Democratic vice presidential nominee, will take part in a town hall meeting Sunday in Charlotte.

The appearance marks the first time any of the major national party candidates has visited North Carolina since the recent Democratic and Republican national conventions.

WRAL's Ken Smith will interview Sen. Joe Biden. Send us questions you would like to see Biden be asked.

The full interview will be posted on WRAL.com, and excerpts will air on WRAL News on Fox 50 at 10 p.m. and WRAL-TV at 11 p.m.

The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Phillip O. Berry Academy, 1430 Alleghany. Tickets will be distributed Saturday, beginning at noon, on a first-come, first-served basis at the Barack Obama Democratic campaign offices in Charlotte, 1523 Elizabeth Ave., and Gastonia, 1626 E. Franklin Blvd.

Biden also is scheduled to appear at a 4 p.m. fundraiser at the home of textile executive Crandall Bowles, the wife of University of North Carolina President Erskine Bowles.
