Michelle Obama to visit Durham, Asheville

Michelle Obama will return to North Carolina on Friday to campaign for her husband, representatives for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama said Thursday.

DURHAM, N.C. — Michelle Obama will return to North Carolina on Friday to campaign for her husband, representatives for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama said Thursday.

Michelle Obama will attend a Get Out the Vote Community event at 12:30 p.m. at the Durham Armory, 200 Foster St. in Durham.

Later that afternoon she will attend a similar community event with singer Gladys Knight at the University of North Carolina Asheville’s University Quad. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. for that event.

North Carolina’s primary is Tuesday.
