— Republican presidential underdog Ron Paul will speak at two major Triangle colleges on Friday.

He'll hold a rally at UNC-Chapel Hill's Carmichael Auditorium beginning at 3:30 p.m., followed by an appearance at Duke's Reynolds Theater at 6:30 p.m.

The Duke event is free to the public, but tickets are required. They can be obtained from the University Box Office in the Bryan Center.

Ticket information for the Chapel Hill rally was not available.

Paul, a congressman from Texas, will also take questions and sign copies of his book, "The Revolution: A Manifesto," during the two-hour appearance.

I agree, tylodaat. Ron Paul was never given a fair amount of media coverage, which is so unfortunate-but not terribly surprising-given his views.

    Ron Paul in 08!!!

I love this guys spirit; however, the republican nomination has already been won. Why is he still rallying?

Ron Paul's been blacked out of the media from the beginning. "They" are afraid of him and his message. In my opinion, he is the only candidate that makes a bit of sense. But as usual, most people just follow the mainstream media for their information. Look him up on the Internet. He's not hard to find there and has a huge following to boot.

Hmm... a Republican candidate is in town, speaking to a sold out crowd, none the less, and you literally have to search to find this story.

I suppose this is expected from a "news" organization who considers roller derby a sport.
