Occupation/Background: 37-year career at Duke University in the office of alumni affairs. Retired in 2005. Also spent six years as a member of the staff of The Duke Endowment (1977-1982), and worked in the Holshouser administration (1973-1976), serving as Deputy Secretary of Commerce, Special Assistance to the Governor for Appointments, and Chief of Staff.

Political Affiliation: Republican

Top three priorities if elected:
1) Bringing discipline and common sense to a tax/spend policy that is out of control.

2) Protecting and repairing Durham's crumbling infrastructure.

3) Helping the Durham Police Department become more efficient and effective.
