Raleigh student blogs from convention

Gary Hooker, a fifth-grader at Bugg Elementary at Raleigh, is spending a week among the nation's Democratic leaders.

Hooker's mother is one of North Carolina's 134 delegates to the Democratic National Convention, and he made the trip to Denver with her and his father.

What's more, Gary is blogging about the event. He's already sent his first report back to his classmates.

Gary said he hopes to meet Barack Obama again. He shook hands with him during one of the candidate's visits to Raleigh, and the encounter left Gary star-struck.
