Man found dead inside pickup truck on 540 in Cary, police investigating

Cary police are investigating after a person was found dead inside a pickup truck Saturday afternoon. 

According to the Cary Police Department, officers were notified around 3 p.m. by drivers on N.C. Highway 540 at Green Level West Road. Police said a driver saw someone in a black Ford F-150 who appeared "distressed and unresponsive."

Police said when they arrived, the person, later identified as 63-year-old David Alatalo of Cary, in the truck was dead.

Police on Sunday said they found no evidence of homicide or foul play in Alatalo's death, adding that Alatalo had a "documented medical history.
