A&T Women’s Head Basketball Coach Patricia Bibbs
Contract: July 1, 2008 – June 30, 2012
Annual salary: $135,000

Bonuses/Perks:

• 5 percent base salary bonus for winning the MEAC regular season title
• 5 percent base salary bonus for winning the MEAC Tournament title
• 3 percent base salary bonus for winning the MEAC Coach of the Year
• 5 percent base salary bonus for each round of advancement in the NCAA Tournament
• 4 percent base salary for winning the NCAA/WBCA Coach of Year
• Should the camp generate $15,000 or more, coach shall be paid $3,000, which shall be in addition to any annual salary of the coach
• The university shall pay coach one-half of the proceeds derived from endorsements. Payments shall be in addition to the coach’s annual salary.
• entitled to advise and comment on all proposed scheduling of women’s basketball games
• authority to recommend the appointment of assistant basketball coach(es) in accordance with budgetary allowances
• shall have the first option to decide to offer summer basketball camps associated with the university’s athletic program.

ASU Women’s Basketball Coach Darcie Vincent
Contract: April 24, 2008 – March 31, 2011
Annual Salary: $120,000

Bonuses/Perks:

• Coach shall have the opportunity to engage in sports camps through ASU. Compensation for participation will be dependent upon receipts of the camp and will be paid through the university payroll system.

ECSU Women’s Interim Head Basketball Coach Alico Dunk
Contract: March 9, 2009 – May 31, 2009 and Aug. 1, 2009 – May 31, 2010
Annual Salary:
March , 2009 – May 31, 2009: $666.67 per month
Aug. 1, 2009 – May 31, 2010: $1,000 per month

Bonuses/Perks:

• $1,000 if the basketball team’s graduation rate increases by 7 percentage points above the preceding year.
• $1,000 if the basketball team wins the Divisional Championship
• $2,000 if the basketball team wins the CIAA Conference Championship
• $3,000 if the basketball team wins the Regional Championship
• $5,000 if the basketball team wins the National Championship
• Head coach shall have the responsibility and authority to make recommendations for the hiring or dismissal of all assistant coaching personnel.

ECU Women’s Basketball Head Coach Sharon Baldwin-Tener
Contract: Aug. 2007 – April 2012
Annual Salary:
2007-08: $142,000
2008-10: $157,500
2010-11: $165,000
2011-12: $172,500

Bonuses/Perks:

• $10,000 if the basketball team is invited to participate in the NCAA Tournament
• $10,000 if the basketball team participates in the NCAA Round of Sixteen
• $10,000 if the basketball team participates in the NCAA Final Four
• Coach shall be paid the following for the team’s appearances at the National Invitation Tournament:
  • $4,000 for first invitation
  • $3,000 for second invitation
  • $2,000 for third invitation

FSU Women’s Head Basketball Coach Eva Patterson-Heath
Contract: July 15, 2009 – July 14, 2012
Annual Salary: $85,00

Bonuses/Perks:

• Coach can get a bonus if she achieves at least three of the following incentives during a basketball season. At least one of the three must be an academic incentive. The amount of the bonus shall be determined by the athletic director:
  • Academic incentives:
    • Graduation rate equivalent to that of the total university’s graduation rate
    • Not less than 75 percent of the student-athletes will be on track to graduate within five years
    • Highest average cumulative GPA within the CIAA conference
  • Athletic incentives
    • Win at least 75 percent of the regular season games
    • Win the CIAA Western Division
    • Win the CIAA
    • Win the NCAA Division II South Atlantic Regional Championship
    • Win the Division II Championship
• Makes recommendations to the athletic director regarding the employment and salary of all assistant coaches
• shall conduct travel within the allotted budget (amount not given)

NCCU Women’s Basketball Coach Joli Robinson
Contract: July 1, 2007 – June 30, 2012
Annual Salary: $90,000 (funded solely by athletic receipts)

• shall have the authority to recommend the appointment of assistant basketball coaches

NCSU Women’s Basketball Coach Kellie Harper
Contract: April 16, 2009 – April 15, 2014
Annual Salary: $247,209

Bonuses/Perks:

• Two months extra salary if the basketball team is the ACC regular season champion, ACC tournament champion or receives an invitation to the NCAA Division I women’s basketball post-season tournament.
• Three months extra salary if the basketball team appears among the Sweet Sixteen
• Four months extra salary if the basketball team appears among the Final Four
• $50,000 if the basketball team’s graduation rate per NCAA six-year reporting rate is equal to or greater than 55 percent.
• Coach can advise the athletic director on selection and hiring of the following positions:
  • Sports Information Director
  • Director of Sports Medicine
  • Head women’s basketball trainer
  • Strength Coach for the basketball team
  • All support staff in the basketball office
  • Equipment manager
  • Athletic director
• Coach shall have input into design and development of any and all NCSU basketball facilities
• Shall schedule games for the basketball program

UNC-CH Women’s Head Basketball Coach Sylvia Hatchell
Contract: July 1, 2008 – June 30, 2015

Bonuses/Perks:

• Coach shall receive the following supplemental compensation payments:

UNC-A Women’s Basketball Coach Elizabeth “Betsy” Blose
Contract: April 1, 2007 – March 31, 2011

Bonuses/Perks:

• Coach will get 50 percent of all endorsement revenue.

UNC-C Women’s Head Basketball Coach Karen Aston
Contract: May 2, 2007 – May 1. 2012
Annual Salary: $150,000

Bonuses/Perks:

• 5 percent annual salary if the team competes in the NCAA Division I Women’s basketball championship
• 10 percent annual salary if team advances past the first round in the tournament
• 15 percent annual salary if team advances to the round in which there are 16 teams remaining
• 20 percent annual salary if the team advances to the round in which there are four teams remaining
• $10,000 if the team wins or shares the regular season Atlantic 10 conference championship
• $10,000 if the team wins the Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament
• 5 percent annual salary of coach is named Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year
• $10,000 if the combined average GPA for recruited scholarship student-athletes on the women’s basketball team exceeds 2.5
• $15,000 if the combined GPA exceeds 2.7
• $5,000 for each recruited scholarship student-athlete who graduates within one calendar year of the last semester in which the student is eligible to compete
• $1,000 per speaking engagement. No more than 10 per year.
• University will provide coach with the use of a late-model automobile, including liability insurance and reasonable costs of operation and maintenance.
• University will reimburse coach the cost of professional tax return preparation for both N.C. and federal individual tax returns.

UNC-G Women’s Basketball Coach Lynne Agee
Contract: July 1, 2005 – June 30, 2010

UNC-P Women’s Basketball Coach John Haskins

UNC-W Women’s Basketball Coach Elizabeth Hancock

Bonuses/Perks:

• The Student Aid Association Inc., aka Seahawk Club, may provide supplemental benefits to coach

WCU Women’s Basketball Coach Karen Middleton
Contract: May 15, 2009 – March 10, 2014
Annual Salary: $110,000

Bonuses/Perks:

• 2 percent annual salary if team wins southern conference (or any other conference university may join) regular season championship or co-championship (not the conference tournament championship) and is not invited to the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship.
• In any year that the team is invited to compete in the NCAA Division I Women’s basketball Championship Tournament, university will pay coach a one-time lump sum, not made a part of base salary, calculated as follows:
  • For being invited, 4 percent of her annual salary then in effect;
  • Should the team advance past the first round of the tournament, another 1 percent of her annual salary then in effect will be added to the performance incentive
  • Should the team advance to the round in which there are 16 teams remaining in the tournament, another 3 percent of her annual salary then in effect will be added to the performance incentive.
  • Should the team advance to the round in which there are four teams remaining in the tournament, another 2 percent annuals alary will be added to the performance incentive for a total performance incentive of 10 percent of her annuals salary.
• University will provide a vehicle on a loan basis for use by coach. Coach will provide all maintenance and operating costs for the vehicle including gas, oil, tires and all unwarranted repairs. Coach will also pay all charges for excess mileage unless excused in writing from such payment by the athletic director … when coach uses the vehicle for official business, university will provide a credit card for the purchase of gasoline. University agrees to provide liability and comprehensive automobile insurance for coach. Insurance in excess of the policy limits is the responsibility of coach. Coach must kept records of any personal use of the vehicle and must pay all taxes arising from such personal use.
• Coach shall be entitled to use the university’s group membership at the Waynesville Country Club for business entertaining.
• Coach shall be reimbursed for all reasonable moving expenses.

WSSU Women’s Basketball Coach Deanna Stokes
Contract: April 15, 2006 – March 31, 2010
Annual Salary: $85,000

Bonuses/Perks:

• 1/12 annual salary if team goes to the NCAA post-season playoffs
• 1/12 annual salary if team makes an appearance among the final post-season playoffs
• 1/12 annual salary if team’s graduation rate exceeds that of the student body.
