MORRISVILLE, N.C. — The GEICO Philanthropic Foundation has committed $150,000 over three years to support programs that welcome and support military personnel.

The foundation will give $50,000 each in 2011, 2012, 2013 to the United Service Organizations (USO) of North Carolina.

Joe Thomas, GEICO regional vice president, presented a check Wednesday to John Falkenbury, president and chief operating officer of the USO of North Carolina.

“GEICO understands the sacrifices of today’s warriors,” Falkenbury said. “This contribution will go a long way toward supporting our mission of improving the quality of life for the nearly 500,000 troops, reservists, retirees and family members that we serve.”
