Rescue group names dog after WRAL newshound

The Neuse River Golden Retriever Rescue in Raleigh introduced its newest rescue on Monday. The dog is named Tracker, in memory of WRAL's beloved newshound who passed away earlier this month.

RALEIGH, N.C. — The Neuse River Golden Retriever Rescue in Raleigh introduced its newest rescue on Monday. The dog is named Tracker, in memory of WRAL's beloved newshound who passed away earlier this month.

More information about the dog will be available soon, organizers said. 

The NRGRR is a nonprofit organization run by volunteers who are dedicated to helping unwanted and stray Golden Retrievers through rescue, rehabilitation and adoption.

The group covers the eastern part of North Carolina from the Triangle area to the coast.
