Chapel Hill, N.C. — Students at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill raised $436,709.61 in 24 hours for the North Carolina Children's Hospital this weekend, the result of the 13th annual UNC Dance Marathon.
Student participants did line dances and yoga and were entertained by student DJs and on-campus A cappella groups. Throughout the event, they heard from children and families who benefit from the funds raised and the services of the N.C. Children's Hospital.
The event began at 7:30 Friday night and ended at 7:30 Saturday night.
