Web, mobile app allows Raleigh residents to report problems

The City of Raleigh has partnered with WRAL.com and vendor SeeClickFix to connect residents with government agencies to address problems like garbage pick-up, potholes, graffiti and litter.

The City of Raleigh has partnered with WRAL.com and vendor SeeClickFix to connect residents with government agencies to address problems like garbage pick-up, potholes, graffiti and litter.

SeeClickFix is a mobile and Web-based tool that allows citizens to send a complaint, complete with photographs and location, to city government. The application plots the issues on a map, alerts the appropriate city agency and tracks the response. It is in use in 

The City of Raleigh will accept reports of graffiti, potholes, drainage, problems with traffic signals or signs, parks/trails, water/sewer service and garbage pickup among others. Residents log on to WRAL.com, find the SeeClickFix logo and report their problem. 

The reporting service is free. WRAL.com is sponsoring professional-level accounts for each member of the Raleigh City Council, the mayor and the city manager so they can access, sort and address reports and alert residents when issues are resolved.

Started in New Haven, Conn. in 2008, SeeClickFix has logged tens of thousands of reports in cities across the country including Washington, D.C., San Francisco, Philadelphia and Boston.

The service is accessible online and via Blackberry, iPhone and Android mobile platforms.
