Wreaths laid on graves of fallen soldiers

National Guard Brigadier General Jim Trogdon, veteran group The Rolling Thunder and six World War II veterans participated in the ceremony of placing wreaths on the grave stones at Raleigh National Cemetery.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Fallen soldiers were honored Saturday at the Wreaths Across America ceremony in Raleigh.

National Guard Brigadier General Jim Trogdon, veteran group The Rolling Thunder and six World War II veterans participated in the ceremony of placing holiday wreaths on the grave stones at Raleigh National Cemetery.

Local businesses and individual contributors purchased the wreaths.  

Wreath-laying ceremonies took place in military cemeteries across the nation Saturday at noon as part of the Wreaths Across America project.
