Downtown Clayton turns into Christmas Village

Posted December 2, 2010

— Downtown Clayton turned into a Christmas Village on Thursday night.

The Clayton High School marching band escorted Santa down Main Street to the town square during the event.

“We have three kids, so now it’s about the kids and moving to the area and having our family traditions, starting our new family and all our traditions,” Clayton resident Bob Booth said.

Restaurants and shops located downtown got into the spirit by offering holiday treats on the house.

We had a great time in Clayton Thursday evening. Main ST. was closed to cars -open only to walkers-and bands. We rang and sang and had a great village Christmas celebration.

Our handbell choir (pictured) looks forward to this event every year. Thank you one and all who stopped to listen.
