Great day for a race in Raleigh
RALEIGH, N.C. — More than 3,000 people were expected to take place in the annual Thanksgiving Day Ridgewood Turkey Trot on Thursday.

The event helps raise money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society through registrations for two 8K races, the 1-mile event and a kid's dash.

In 2009, more than 2,700 people from 56 North Carolina towns and cities, 37 states and five foreign countries participated in the event, helping raise more than $22,000 for charity.
