BCBS announces gift to NCCU

Posted October 4, 2010

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (BCBSNC) has given a $35,000 gift to North Carolina Central University to fund a classroom and lecture series. The gift also will allow student and faculty internships with BCBSNC.

The gift grants the nonprofit insurer naming rights to a classroom in NCCU’s School of Business for five years.

The BCBSNC Lecture Series will include up to four lectures in the School of Business and two collaborative events with the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences, particularly students in the Public Health curriculum. BCBSNC will provide the lecture speakers. Topics will be determined by BCBSNC in collaboration with NCCU faculty and administrators.

    Keeping "hiding" those profits...

The company I work for had to switch providers since BCBS was going to increase our rates by 23 percent. Now we know why

  • JackandJill Oct 5, 2010

Meh. Nothing more then a publicity stunt. Pathetic.

Hopefully, we'll start inviting more conservative speakers vice those left wing progressives. One can only hope.

You bet the will, noticed they (BCBS)can tell them what and how to teach a topic. This company will not reduce rate to help others tehy will spend everything they can to help the company look better.

Bravo for BCBS! Now go to the Insurance Commissioner and request a rate increase.
