Raleigh assistant city manager to retire

A long-time City of Raleigh employee is retiring in December. Lawrence E. Wray, assistant city manager, began his career with the city in 1973.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A long-time City of Raleigh employee is retiring in December. Lawrence E. Wray, assistant city manager, began his career with the city in 1973. His retirement is effective Dec. 1.

Wray worked as an urban planner in Richmond, Va., and in the city's departments of Community Development and Human Resources in the course of his career. He was born in Wake County and graduated from St. Augustine's College.
