— Alamance County will be a shopping destination when a new Tanger Outlet mall opens off Interstate 40/85 in Mebane later this fall.

On Tuesday, the media got a sneak peek at the center, which will have 80 stores with more than 300,000 feet of total retail space.

The project is creating jobs, too. A job fair for more than 800 full- and part-time retail positions will be held Sept. 16 at the Mebane Art & Community Center, 622 Corregidor St.

The center is expected to open to shoppers on Nov. 5.

thats a great attitude to have (jwrr41) because if you have been or have a loved one that has been unemployed you learn to be greatful for whatever you can get because some income is better than none.

I GUESS WITH THE ATTITUDES I AM READING THERES NO WONDER SO MANY PEOPLE ARE SATISFIED SITTING ON THEIR REARS AND NOT TRYING TO WORK. MAYBE YOU COULD GET PROMOTED IN THE JOB AT LEAST YOU WOULD HAVE YOUR FOOT IN THE DOOR!!!

and probably not many will be full time jobs. As we all know that Retail prefers to hire part time only and as few Full time workers as possible.

yawn. More JOBS coming to Mebane. Wake me up, PSUEDONYM, when you want 800 people to not have a job.

Retail adds to the tax-base, usually resulting in lower property taxes... unless you live in Durham. I do. Wake me up when they learn how to use my money wisely.
