CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — The Bouncing Bulldogs jump rope team is back in Chapel Hill after winning the USA Jump Rope Grand National Championship for the seventh consecutive year.

Last week, 39 jumpers competed in 12 events at the 2010 U.S. National Jump Rope Championships in Galveston, Texas. More than 900 jumpers from 37 different states attended the competition.

“No one thought we would have won, but with the support of the parents and college kids we were able to win,” junior team leader Lindsay Crater said in a statement.

The team has traveled around the world to promote rope jumping, including performances in Japan and South Africa and opening an event in San Francisco for Oscar-winning actress and former "American Idol" contestant Jennifer Hudson.
