RALEIGH, N.C. — A new sculpture by Raleigh's Joe Carnevale will debut in Cameron Village on the corner of Cameron and Woodburn on Saturday afternoon.

Carnevale first captured local and national attention with his "barrel monster," a humanoid figure made of construction materials that spoofed traffic diversions on Hillsborough Street.

His Cameron Village installation is part of the shopping plaza's Earth Day celebration. Carnevale, a student at North Carolina State University, is one of many area displaying work at Cameron Village to compete for a $1,000 prize.
