— Former Vice President Al Gore will give the 2010 spring Duke Environment and Society Lecture at 6 p.m. on April 8 place in Page Auditorium on Duke’s West Campus.

Gore shared in the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize for his advocacy of environmental causes.

No admission is required, but attendance is limited. Tickets can be obtained at www.nicholas.duke.edu/deanseries.

“Since the beginning of his career, Al Gore has been relentless in his quest to bring the truth about global warming to the world, even when the world wasn’t listening,” said William L. Chameides, dean of Duke University’s Nicholas School of the Environment. “But the world can hear him now. We are fortunate and thrilled to have him bring his message to Duke.”

Well said, sehsa. Just taxes building up so that the next administration has to spend 4 years haggling to give us a break. Meanwhile, nations like China are held accountable for nothing and getting all the benefits.

"At the rate the environment is warming this will probably be the last snow our children will ever see. haa haa"

Actually he just blamed all the snow this winter ON Global Warming. It appears that MMGW is the cause of anything above, below or at normal levels when it comes to the climate and environment. In otherwords the only thing keeping us from the brink of disaster is a massive new system of "guilt taxes" to give the government more power than they ever imagined.

Just because he says it does not make it true. Some studies say the earth is cooling, some say it is warming. Gore can make the most money on the warming theory. And he is doing his part with his never ending private jet flights. He contributes to global warming every year than a community of 5,000 people.

He has probably already started this way since he is coming on a bicycle. You know he is doing everything he can for the environment. He even lives in a teepee you know. We should all live by his actions. At the rate the environment is warming this will probably be the last snow our children will ever see. haa haa

Maybe he can bring some of that global warming down here and kickstart Spring. I have two theories about Al Gore. One is that the climate change issue is just the shiny red Corvette for his massive midlife crisis. Second, maybe it's warmer everywhere he goes because of all the hot air spewing from his mouth whenever he speaks.

"Since the beginning of his career, Al Gore has been relentless in his quest to bring the truth about global warming to the world". Dean Chameides, please put down the Kool-Aid you've had enough already.

Remember, if a lunatic commits an insane act and his politics even vaguely resemble a conservative's politics, it's all a part of the Vast Tea Party Right Wing Conspiracy.

If a couple of lunatics commit horrific acts and state their reasons for doing so are an integral part of left-wing orthodoxy, um, well, err...

A seven-month-old baby girl survived three days alone with a bullet in her chest beside the bodies of her parents and toddler brother.

Argentines Francisco Lotero, 56, and Miriam Coletti, 23, shot their children before killing themselves after making an apparent suicide pact over fears about global warming.

I'd love to hear from Vice President Gore on how government is going to redeem humanity from lunatics like this.
