Perdue appoints judges in Wake, Harnett counties

Keith O'Brien Gregory,  a senior partner in the Raleigh law firm Gregory and McClinton, will fill a new judgeship in the 10th Judicial District, which covers Wake County. Charles “Winston” Gilchrist, a partner in the Lillington law firm Morgan and Gilchrist, will fill a new judgeship in the 11th Judicial District, which covers Harnett, Johnston and Lee counties.

Gregory received his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and his law degree from North Carolina Central University School of Law. He began his legal career as an assistant public defender in Cumberland County and then worked for four years as a Wake County assistant district attorney.

Gilchrist received both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He previously was an assistant federal public defender in Raleigh and an associate at Womble, Carlyle, Sandridge and Rice in Winston-Salem.
