Tanger Outlets coming to Mebane

Gov. Bev Perdue was on hand for the groundbreaking of the new Tanger Outlet Shopping Center in Mebane Thursday.
The outlet center will feature 65 stores – including J. Crew and Saks Fifth Avenue – and create more than 800 jobs. It is set to open in fall 2010.
Tanger is investing $60 million in the project at Interstates 40 and 85.
