Raleigh, N.C. — State Employees’ Credit Union members announced Monday a $4 million grant to the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences.
The money will fund the museum’s planned Nature Research Center centerpiece, a three-story area employing audio and visual technologies for live presentations on environmental issues and scientific discoveries.
The centerpiece, titled the SECU Daily Planet, will also provide live feeds of the latest science news via the North Carolina Research and Education Network, Research Channel Consortium, NASA-TV, WRAL-TV, UNC-TV, North Carolina Public Radio (WUNC), Webcasts and Podcasts.
The Nature Research Center is projected to attract more than 200,000 visitors annually from across the state.
