Buttons go on sale Tuesday for admission to the performances and activities of Raleigh's New Year's celebration.

This year marks the 19th for First Night Raleigh. The festival comprises 28 indoor and outdoor venues throughout downtown Raleigh over the course of the evening and culminates in fireworks at midnight.

Buttons, which allow visitors access to the various musical, dance and comedy performances, cost $9 in advance from area retailers, including Harris Teeter and Rite Aid stores. On New Year's Eve, admission costs $12 for adults and $10 for children ages 6 to 12.
