Walk for Hope raises money for mental illness

More than 3,000 people participated Sunday in the 21st annual Walk for Hope event on Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh.

RALEIGH, N.C. — More than 3,000 people participated Sunday in the 21st annual Walk for Hope event on Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh.

Walk for Hope is the largest known fundraising walk in the United States for mental illness, according to volunteer Glenn Gillen.

More than $400,000 was raised during the event, which included a 10k run this year.
