RALEIGH, N.C. — Joseph Carnevale, known for his "Barrel Monster" creations, is among the artists contributing work to an exhibit opening Friday in Raleigh.

The LoDi Project, at 1126 N. Blount St. will feature Carnevale's work at its inaugural exhibit, "Dia de Los Muertos." The exhibit explores the Latin American holiday also known as the Day of the Dead.

The exhibit includes the work of 17 artists. In addition to Carnevale, stenciled aerosol artist Garret Scales, photographer Peter Eversoll and fanatic mask creator Chip Hoppin have provided contributions.

LoDi Project founders Georges and Carrie Le Chevallier describe their effort as "a cultural hub that will strive to bring attention to current issues and ideas by creating an atmosphere of open dialogue through diverse exhibits, performances and productions."
