State leaders looked at plans Tuesday for a media campaign to attract more tourists to North Carolina.
Ads touting the state's fall events, unique characters and food, wine and beer offerings will begin running online and in travel and lifestyle magazines nationwide. A radio and television campaign will focus on luring visitors from New York City, Birmingham, Ala., the Greenville/Spartanburg region in S.C. and Richmond, Va.
The state's tourism Web site, www.VisitNC.com, will feature discount offers from destinations, hotels and shops across the state.
