Area schools honored for health efforts

— Former President Clinton and Rachel Ray honored five area schools Thursday for their participation in the healthy schools program.

The schools -- Hollister, Scotland Neck and Inborden elementary schools in Halifax County, Long Mill Elementary in Franklin County and Vaughn Elementary in Warren County -- are among 100 nationwide to be recognized for efforts to make their campuses into healthier places for students to learn and staff to work.

    I think to make schools a more healthier place they should not recognize perfect attendance as it promotes people to attend classes that might be sick.

    Seriously, wonder what their efforts include. More phys ed, more fresh veggies, fruit, beans, seeds? Less processed junk? Less government brainwash & funding?
