WASHINGTON — Kate Pearson, of Smithfield, joined 69 other high school students from across the country in a performance at Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., Sunday.
Pearson, a violinist, is the only North Carolinian this summer at the Summer Music Institute Orchestra at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
