Utility 'tweets' money-saving tips

— Progress Energy is offering up a new way to help you beat the heat. Follow the utility online at the social networking site Twitter for short updates from the Energy Advisors program with ways to save energy and money on bills.

    I can neither prove nor disprove what you say about Twitter's marketing effectiveness, but you missed my point. My point is that once a technology goes mainstream and even a stodgy old utility is tweeting, that whole twitter scene is played and mainstream. Old people are talking about tweeting. The young hipster with any sense of dignity will move on to a new form of electronic communication. Thats all I'm saying...

    Whats next, is Progress Energy going to want me to be their "friend" on Facebook too? Twitter users need to find a new technology - when companies start trying to be hip and progressive with Twitter, it is no longer "in". Twitter is so 2008!
