Raleigh, N.C. — The Chevrolet driven into history by NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt Sr. is making a pit stop at the N.C. Museum of History in Raleigh.
Earnhardt’s Richard Childress Racing No. 3 GM Goodwrench 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo will be on display at the museum next to another famous, fast-moving No. 3 – the 1963 Chevrolet Impala that Robert “Junior” Johnson drove during the 1963 NASCAR season.
Earnhardt’s car is on extended loan to the museum, where visitors can see it for free at 5 E. Edenton St. Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
Earnhardt and Johnson are members of the N.C. Sports Hall of Fame, which is located in the museum.
