e-mail print friendly

The University of North Carolina's Morehead-Cain Foundation has funded a merit scholarship in memory of former Morehead scholar and slain student body president Eve Carson.

The foundation donated a grant of approximately $400,000 to the university to be used to attract a top out-of-state student. Carson, who was murdered during her senior year at UNC, was from Athens, Ga.

In addition, the foundation pledged a $30,000 contribution to the Eve Marie Carson Junior-Year Scholarship fund.

I'll second that and what a fantastic role model to emulate.

BRAVO. My hat's off to ANY organization who sees the great, long-lasting value of funding such scholarships.
