Raleigh, N.C. — An event designed to empower women was held at the RBC Center on Saturday.
Radio One Raleigh started the the Women's Empowerment Expo in 1994 in honor of women’s history month.
About 20,000 people attended Saturday's event, which featured music and inspiration speakers.
Singer Mary J. Blige gave the keynote address.
Academy Award winner Jennifer Hudson planned to close the event with music from her self-titled album.
