Durham, N.C. — Jesse Battle, a graduate of Durham Technical Community College, earned a national honor for his work Thursday.
Battle entered Durham Tech with a GED and low scores on his college placement exams. He started his college career in developmental education courses to brush up on the basics.
Battle graduated with a degree in Network Administration but has made a career out of helping others beat drugs and alcohol. His is director of the men’s program at Triangle Residential Options for Substance Abusers.
The National Association of Developmental Education recognized Battle as a successful alumnus of a developmental education program.
