Fayetteville, N.C. — A new name is proving prescient for the puppy found tied to a tree in Fayetteville on Feb. 3.
Robert Dickens found the white pit bull mix as he jogged along Johnson Street. She had been shot and her eye crushed.
Dickens named the dog Lucky and delivered her to the Highland Animal Hospital in Fayetteville. Veterinarians there treated her wounds and infections and sent her home with Dickens.
Dickens said the dog is adapting well to her new home but still tires easily.
