CARY, N.C. — Residents of Cary's west side will have a new outlet where they can get fresh foods, beginning in May.

A weekly farmers’ market with approximately 20 vendors is planned for the Carpenter Village Marketplace on Morrisville-Carpenter Road, between N.C. Highway 55 and Davis Drive. The Western Wake Farmers’ Market will be held Saturdays, from 8 a.m. to noon, from May through November.

Juliann Zoetmulder, a spokesperson for the market, said, “A group of us were tired of driving to Carrboro, Raleigh and even downtown Cary for fresh, local produce. One thing led to another, and Western Wake Farmers’ Market was born."

“Western Wake Farmers’ Market will offer fresh vegetables and fruits, meats, cheeses, eggs, honey, fresh flowers, coffee, home-baked goods, all grown or produced within a 90-mile radius,” Zoetmulder said.
