Raleigh, N.C. — The United States Postal Service will issue commemorative stamps in February to honor 12 people who built their legacies as leaders of the civil rights movement.
Among others, the Civil Rights Pioneers stamps will feature Medgar Evers, Ella Baker and Fannie Lou Hamer.
The Raleigh-Apex chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People will hold an early dedication ceremony Sunday afternoon at Martin Street Baptist Church in Raleigh.
