RALEIGH, N.C. — As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, the American Red Cross is partnering up with Food Lion to help families.

The North Raleigh Blood Center, 8301 Bandford Way, and the Durham Blood Center, 4737 University Drive, will be open for special Thanks for Giving Blood Drives on Nov. 22 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and Nov. 23 from 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Each blood donation will have a double impact this Thanksgiving. For every person that donates blood during the Thanks for Giving Blood Drives, Food Lion will donate food to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina.

Every donor will also receive an American Red Cross goodie and have the opportunity to win one of three $1000 gift cards.

For more information or to schedule an appointment to donate, please call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE (448-3543).
